Further Down the Rabbit Hole

Our ever vigilant President is on the road again campaigning for his policies and crying about distortions. I would classify this as the pot calling the kettle black but I don’t want to confuse Skip Gates into thinking it’s a racial issue.

Anyway, back to Obama. During his speech (heard audio on the radio, looking for transcript to link to) he claims the same people who left him a 1.3 trillion dollar deficit are the ones complaining about spending now. He is blaming this on the Bush tax cuts and the Prescription Drug Expansion by Republicans a few years ago. The tax cuts helped jump start a post 9-11 economy and Obama’s attacks are just class warfare politics and while the prescription drug plan was an abomination, only true conservatives were opposed to that at the time, liberals, including Obama, were just mad it didn’t go far enough so he can’t claim the moral high ground on that issue either. In fact, Obama and liberals have been the chief architects of the deficit. Since the libs took over in 2006, they have increased the deficit at a break neck pace. While Bush was the President, Pelosi was Speaker when the House devised and passed the first two stimulus/bailout packages that effectively nationalized the auto industry and the banking & lending industry.

So rather than a victim of tough circumstances, Obama is a willing participant in its creation. Besides, nobody ever gave him the mandate to eliminate the debt in six months. His complaint that Republicans are screaming because he hasn’t paid it off is absurd. Everybody knew and knows that getting out of this hole would be a long drawn out process. What Republicans are screaming about Obama, is the fact that you and your administration are hell bent on turning an economic nightmare into a national catastrophe. While nobody expected you to pay off the deficit in six months, nobody authorized you to double it in six months either, which is where it’s going now. You’re claims about 95% of the people getting tax cuts is an outright lie, especially given the mass inflation and devaluation of the dollar that is coming. All of this is before his plans for socialized healthcare and cap and trade plans are passed into law with all their tax and fee hikes that will impact everyone, I assure you. When that happens a simple doubling of the deficit will seem like a rosy condition compared to the tens of trillions of dollars of debt and destruction of constitutional principles those plans will entail.

So stop running for reelection and deceiving your audiences. You’re no victim. The Bush recession ended already and this nightmare we are being forced into is completely your making.

You made it, now own it.
